Carpet vs Hardwood Flooring

by Oct 26, 2016

hardwood-flooring-in-homeHi and welcome back to my carpet care blog. Today we’ll talk further about why carpets instead of just hardwood or tile for your beautiful home.

When choosing what to put on their floors many people think, “if I don’t have any carpets or rugs my home won’t hold or trap dust mites, dust, allergens or other nose and lung offensive critters.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  You see friends, the biggest filter in your home is not attached to your furnace, and it’s on your floors. Your carpets and rugs. They naturally hold and trap all the airborne stuff you wanted to avoid breathing in the first place.
You’re walking through your home minding your own whatever and every step you take you are kicking up an incredible amount of things you do not want to be breathing.

You have a life to live so what’s a person to do?

Live your life. But put down some nice rugs and carpet and improve your indoor air quality.   Get a decent vac but when choosing one a middle ground is almost always best.

Ok, ok.  If you can afford a Bentley you should definitely buy a Bentley. Oh and I am available for Sunday afternoon drives to D.Q. My treat just so long as I get to drive the B.  That being said just because you can afford the most expensive vacuum does not mean it is the best.

Something I like to do is go on Amazon and read the reviews. I always start with the worst, the most negative ones first. After a few lines most people can figure out if this person is a wack job or if their concerns are valid and should be considered. If three or four people have the same complain am I gonna get the one that is flawless and perfect?  Maybe. Or maybe I need to look for another brand or model with better reviews.

More about how your floor coverings filter and improve your indoor air quality in our next blog.
